Mahjabin I Majumder, born in 1970 in Dhaka, is a contemporary painter whose practice is rooted in memory, introspection, and poetic expression. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Painting from Kala Bhavan, Visva-Bharati University, Santiniketan, in 1993. Having participated in over thirty group exhibitions across India and presented one solo show, her works are held in several international collections. Autobiographical in nature, her art weaves past and present through vibrant contrasts of warm and cool colours. Using motifs from flora and fauna, she explores unconscious realms, lost time, and emotional truths, emphasising journey over destination.
