Arunkumar H.G. was born in 1968 in Karnataka. He completed both his Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Fine Art, specializing in sculpture, from the Faculty of Fine Arts at M.S. University of Baroda.

Arunkumar incorporates objects such as toys, plastic, ceramics, cow dung, hay, and TV monitors in his work, reflecting his affinity for the neo-pop movement. His sculptural pieces, which often resemble toys, convey straightforward messages. However, he sometimes alters this dynamic by creating works that appear simple yet express complex ideas that contradict their outward simplicity.

At first glance, the artist’s colorful imagery can be confusing to viewers, as it is often elusive and occasionally exotic. However, once the sources of his inspiration are revealed and understood, the multi-layered associations in his work become clear. In his recent series titled "Feed," the artist appears both disturbed and amused by contemporary market forces, the processes of production and consumption, and the careless disposal of mass-produced goods.
